Our Story
Since 2010
Monkey Wood Art started in 2010 with a single workbench and a simple frustration: furniture built to be replaced, not kept. We wanted to build the other kind.
Today every piece still passes through the same hands, in the same workshop — cut, joined, and finished one at a time, in one material we know completely: treated Southern Yellow Pine, framed in metal where it's needed.
If you're in South Beach, come by the showroom on Collins Avenue. Touch the timber. That's usually all it takes.
The Workshop
Where every piece starts — raw boards checked by eye and hand, one at a time, before a single cut is made.
Hand-cut joints and welded metal frames — the part nobody sees, and the reason the piece lasts.
Oil, hardwax, or lacquer — applied coat by coat until the grain looks the way it did the day the board was split.
Our Material
We don't chase a dozen exotic timbers. Every piece is built from ground-contact pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine — dense, renewable, and rated to live outside — framed in metal where strength demands it.
